Amex Small Business Saturday
« on: November 24, 2014, 03:26:58 pm »
FYI, Small Business Saturday is this weekend (Nov. 29th). I like to call it "Free Beer Weekend" as I have a few Amex cards laying around.

If you've never done this, find a local beer shop, buy $10 in beer and you'll get a $10 credit back on your next statement.

BUT WAIT, there's more! This year, you can get $30 credit per card. Just visit different small business' and spend at least $10 in each one.

I don't know what Amex is,
but hell yes to supporting your local hometown businesses. 8)

Mrs. R signed us this morning. I didn't know about it, but looks like a deal.

AMEX = American Express

If you plan on taking advantage of the credit you need to make sure it is a business that uses an AMEX card reader. Take a look at https://www.americanexpress.com/us/small-business/shop-small/?extlink=SBS2014_Offer_Wave1_AMEX.com_Hero_OfferMsg&intlink=US-Homepage-hero59-Learnmore to see businesses in your area that qualify for the credit. Many businesses that accept AMEX do not process directly through AMEX card readers.

I bought 2 six packs at the same store. I asked the clerk to ring up twice. About 20 minutes later I got two emails from AMEX thanking me for my purchases and letting me know I would be getting my 2 $10 credits. This is awesome.

I may go back if my wife doesn't use the last purchase.
