I have spent a good deal of time in the UK - particularly around Sheffield. It is so hard to buy imported British beers as they seldom are as good as the cask or even the gassed fresh beers in the area. Cask is really superior if you find a really good pub with a decent publican. I have had a few foamy cardboard/vinegar beers and angry bar maids when I send them back.
Fullers, Theakston's or even some of the Guinness products are just not in prime shape by the time they show up here in the US. Still, the memories they can trigger are precious!
