Hi all!  I've only just started my homebrewing journey, and found this site... have wanted to do it for years, but work and family commitments put it on the back burner for too many years.  Now that's over, it's time to start living again so to speak.  Name, rank, and serial number?  I'll stick to brew-witch out here, divorced with awesome twin sons (who I love dearly but am glad don't live with me now that they're teenagers!), and we'll just say that I'm old enough to know better but still young enough to do it anyway  ;)

Not new to the fine art of craft beer, I typically go for stouts and porters, but a really nice, hoppy IPA will catch my attention.  Being an herbalist, I do "brew" other things so I'm excited about eventually getting into partials and maybe AG.  Hobbies? Watching hockey and baseball, beer and wine tasting (ok, so, not so much tasting as drinking), and it's all about being outdoors (year-round hiking, kayaking, camping).  Seeking out brew pubs and good BBQ is another favorite past time. And I teach holistic health stuff, which I love, so it's not really work. (yes, beer and BBQ are good for you, trust me, I'm a professional)

Being one of probably only a few females in this "boys club", I should let you know that I don't offend easily... so let it rip!

That's all I can think of for now.  Wanna know more, just ask...if the voices deem you worthy they may answer.
If you can't handle an hour of leisure time, then eternity is going to be a problem.

Actually have pretty good standard British...there was a moment of realization at one point that I didn't have to do a high-pitched put upon voice to do an accent, and I could just speak normally with an accent...improved all my accents.  I'm still rough on north country british, and welsh...welsh is tricky.  I don't really attempt Scottish because modern Scottish is much subtler than our "Groundskeeper Willie" stereotype.  The sort of modern mockney as modelled by Jamie Oliver (and Ricky Gervais in David Brent character) is ear-gratingly bad though and I leave that alone.

I am a bit of an accent chameleon though, to my detriment.  When I did tech support I occasionally would be talking to a Brit, and I would have to consciously avoid morphing into a sort of pan-atlantic hybridized accent, as I would take pains to avoid them thinking (erroneously of course) that I was mocking them.

This is kind of funny...Brits doing very bad American accents.  Hugh Laurie has drastically improved his "American" for House though:

I just do my best 'East Enders' accent or Wallace.

I have a decent Indian accent but it would probably be terribly offensive so I do not trot it out in public.  It is most heavily derived from Peter Sellers' The Goon Show characters of an Indian persuasion.  It's more than the accent but the sort of overly-flowery wording of the speech.  Ah yes, Mr Banerjee and Mr Lalkaka.  I love the Goons...

EDIT:  A classic:  http://www.thegoonshow.net/scripts_show.asp?title=s08e07_the_red_fort

The Goon Show is Awesome.

Peter Sellers was great, what an awesome actor. Maybe the best ...ever. Great at accents too.

Ever seen 'The Party' ? One of his best!
