It's really a glorified tour and tasting. Not to diminish the experience...it was a great inside look at GLB. Compared to others I've been on, the people actually knew what they were talking about, and imparted a nice bit of history with Cleveland brewing and the historic building they brew in. Got some great small batch experimental brews - 10 gal brews they use for new ideas and share with special guests. Everything we drank comes fresh from the tanks or small batch vessels. The high striker was a really nice belg session beer. As I mentioned, spring variety packs are supposed to include this, a kolsch, and some others not mentioned. Also said holy Moses ( white ale) is going to make a return to the lineup.

I love to take in a brewery tour when I can.  Especially if the guide is knowledgable and willing to talk a bit afterwards.

Yeah they do just reg tours, but this is their more small private program. It's always sold out. Lots of time during the tastings and cheese and pretzels they make with spent mash grain to converse.

And for $35, not only a great tour, but shirt and tasting glass, food and beer included. Money well spent.

I've said for a long time that Great Lakes is one of the most underrated breweries in the country. Just an excellent, rock solid core lineup and excellent seasonals (at least the ones I've had). I need to road trip up there some time.

I will say that their Christmas Ale last year was off.  Usually a winter staple, something was just wrong last year.
