I have been using gelatin. I never realized that the beer should be cold first and have been adding it during transferring to the keg. Maybe that is why my beers don't seem to clear as quick as I would like...

yeah during lagering and before transfer to my keg, i prepare the gelatin and put it in the keg, then rack on top of it mixing well. in a couple days at 32F, most drops out. it actually precips out a second time  as you bring it up to serving temps.

Good to know. Looks like I need to add gelatin to the keg while carbing in the fridge.

I usually use gelatin to clear up stubborn yeast that won't drop.  I don't believe that the beer needs to be chilled for this to work.  At least, in my experience it works fine at ~ 50F.

If you want to clear up chill haze, you need to chill the beer before you fine.

yeah i cant add anything on it working at warmer temps. when i use it, my beer is at its coldest temps right before racking.....32-34F
