Equipment Configuration
« on: December 26, 2014, 07:16:58 pm »
I've got the following equipment for my first all-grain and I'm curious about your opinion on how best to use them with no pump.

-10 gallon Igloo (MT)
-10 gallon Spike Brewing kettle w/ ball valve
-10 gallon plain ole' SS brew kettle

I had planned on using the Spike for the HLT, would it better to use that for the brew kettle? Perhaps I could use the Spike for both HLT and brew kettle?

No pump? Use either. With pump I would boil in the one with a valve and pump wirlpool.

Use he spike for the HLT, easier to gravity drain. If you upgrade to a plate chiller or CFC then you can use it for the boil.
