  • I think I have the same snowboard.
  • Denny's picture is actually more than I expected, though I can't wrap my brain around the orange stripes. Shouldn't they be blue?
  • Here is my 'Worlds only 2.5 tier brewstand' - A winch raises the mashtun up and down.

Mine is shown below and is a Work in Progress (same goes for just about everything in my home brewery).

If you're looking for inspiration, mine could use the following improvements:

*A GRANT at the MLT outlet would make life much easier
*Raising the mash cooler off the ground (I use cinder blocks now, but they aren't pictured)
*Pump housing and sample draw (like the BYO pump tool box project)
*Sparge water manifold on the cooler lid - this model of cooler does not hold temps well, and cracking the lid to sparge doesn't help!
*Plate chiller
*More tubing and valves to switch from vorlauf to kettle
*More permanent sparge manifold - the current design likes to detach mid-mash (pictured)

My set up is loosely based off a sabco except I can't work from right to left I got to work left to right, HLT MLT BOIL for me. I'm in the process of setting up one pump (two pumps but one is just circulating HLT water for herms) for top tier and doing a 1/2" coil for herms in my HLT,  direct fire HLT and boil kettle and pumps will be all Manuel no electro stuff for me I'm not good with electric lol

Don't mind the messy ness of it I threw it together for a big brew day for easy transfers and since it's together already might as well run with it still need to mount my second burner on the top tier just haven't gotten around to it cause I don't have another kettle yet so no need lol

What I would love in the future is two pump bottom drain mash herms setup single tier here is a drawling of what's in my head

One day I will get there

Considering picking this up for a gravity stand. Of course I would build this into two different heights for the HLT and MLT. I thought casters would be nice but could deal w this near the garage door.

You might consider slotted angle iron which you can cut and bolt into a custom frame with hand tools. Or there was an article in Zymurgy about using C-channel conduit. I always feel like those shelves are about to spontaneously disassemble.

I've since replaced the round orange mash tun with a rectangular blue one.
And I now have 10 gallon kettle that I just added a ball valve to.
My next task is to raise everything so I can drain from the kettle to fermenter with out having to set it on the table.
