First Witbier
« on: December 28, 2014, 01:30:58 pm »
Just brewed a witbier kit from Brewer's Best.

GRAINS & MALTS
-3.3 lbs Wheat LME
-2 lbs wheat DME
-1 lb Pale malt (steeped)
-.5 lb wheat (steeped)
-.5 lb oats (steeped)
*added 1 lb organic barley syrup (with the LME)

HOPS
-1 oz Liberty
-1 oz German Tetnang

SPICE PACK
-.5 oz bitter orange peel
-.5 oz coriander seed

YEAST
-11.5 g of Safbrew WB-06

Steeping temperatures varied from 150 F +/- 5 degrees. OG ended up at 1.034

Currently it is in the primary and it smells a bit banana-ish. After 3-4 days I plan to add 1 lb of agave syrup to add more taste and raise the final %.

Dude abides
