New version of Tapatalk is garbage. Posts now take up twice as much space and navigation is confusing. Read the App Store reviews. 1 star with ~150 reviews so far.

Yeah and it wants to show you 'trending' posts instead of just all new posts. The full list of unread posts is several clicks down a dark path.

I also don't like that the post displays with forum folder prominently at the top and the actual post subject is less prominent.

Make that 151 reviews.

I quit using Tapatalk about the time they made the last big upgrade. Every time they mess with it the ruin it more. Which sucks because it used to be a useful tool for navigating forums on your phone or iPod.

Forgot to turn off auto update. Now I've got it too. I can't figure how to navigate to the forums list.

It seems for the last couple years that any update I've allowed on a PC, device, software, whatever, including my ipad, have been: update= less good
Don't let the bastards cheer you up.

At least on my phone, there is an icon at the bottom that looks like the outline of a person. Tap that and you'll get a list of subscribed forums. Tap a forum and you can browse the forum like before the update. Not a straightforward path.

Then tap the clock on the upper left hand side for timeline view.

After playing with it, it's really the same, just a new layout.
Icons across the top are you trending, recent, unread, participated. Then you can tap the title at the very top to bring up the different sections. Basically new eye candy for the same ole sh!t.

I figured out the navigation. I simply do not like the large header on each post and the lost ability to mark items read from the timeline screen. Before I could see half dozen posts at a time, now I get three or less depending on if there are photos in the post.

Edit - new version now 1 star with 370 reviews on the App Store. I am talking about the iOS version, is the Android version the same?

Is it just me, or is there a hard limit on how many posts the timeline view displays? I don't see where to tell it to load more posts.
I set out running but I take my time.

The old version was limited to 100 I believe. I don't know about the new version.

I am using the android version and there are also plenty of 1-star reviews on the Google Play store.

What mbalbritton described actually sounds like that last version I had. Though I'd agree they're not really removing anything, but it's reorganized and that means some people won't know where to look.
