The Lakes District

Anybody have advice for pubs and inns? We have some guide books and are looking on the net.

Going to see some friends who now live in London. Then heading north. London we know, Cambria, never been there.

I need some new hiking boots, and some long walks to break those in.

We stayed at this lovely B&B near Cockermouth. It's close to Honistor Pass, which seemed popular with walkers

This hotel is across the road and had a nice dining room and small bar

The Jennings Brewery is in Cockermouth and is a good tour. Their beer Sneck Lifter is one I've tried to clone and not come near. I liked their bitter a lot, too.
It's such a fine line between stupid and clever.
