When I have a drink --whether it be beer, wine, whisk(e)y, or cocktails-- I like to sit, relax, and enjoy it. So, depending on how busy I am, I routinely go for days without alcohol. I don't really keep track, but I'm sure it's not unusual for me to be dry for a week or more at a time. I doubt there have been many times when I've gone for a full month, but as I say, I'm not keeping a record.

On the other side of the coin, I also don't place any particular constraints, per se, on myself when I do drink. But that's not really a problem because I HATE the feeling of being drunk (or even tipsy, really), so there's never any chance of me drinking to excess in the first place.

I don't not like the feeling of being drunk, (or even tipsy really). Hungover however...

I've never been hungover, but I'm pretty confident that I wouldn't enjoy it.

First report after two days dry: my girlfriend tells me I have to stop talking about alcohol all the time.

Not necessarily inspired by this thread but perhaps as a casual coincidence I have not had any alcohol since Sunday. I really don't find giving up beer or whiskey that difficult for a few days, but I'm pretty sure I would have a difficult time going an entire month - mainly because I really don't want to. But a couple days is no big deal. Now, I better have my coffee every morning or there will be hell to pay.

When I quit smoking 25 years ago, my wife and friends wanted to give me cigarettes.  I may have been a little moody.

I've had two very tasty Elysian Split Shots (cream stout with stump town espresso) and now im working on a Kilkenny cream ale. First nitro red in a can I've had. Not too shabby. Next will be a Deschutes Red Chair, then perhaps I'll hit my Old School Pale on tap. I've got some homemade kaluah someone gave me fir Christmas so i might have to have a Big Labowski special after that.

With dinner tonight I had a Dirt Wolf from Victory, a Shake from Boulder, and capped the night off at home with an Indra Kunindra from Ballast Point. My taste buds have been all over the world tonight and I loved every second of it. Stop drinking for a month, not starting this weekend...
