Weyermann Cara Red malt
« on: January 19, 2015, 01:16:24 pm »
Anyone use this grain before?  Looking for some feedback on it good or bad.  Its one of those malts I have yet to incorporate into any of my beers.  Thanks!

Yeah, I love it.  One of the key ingredients in my Waldo Lake amber recipe.  http://wiki.homebrewersassociation.org/WaldoLakeAmberAle

I love it too. Leaves a nice malty taste, not a crystal-malt taste. Seems like you can use it up to about 20% of the grain bill (and if you want it to really import a deep red color you will need about that much unless you use some other specialty grains.)

Excellent malt!  I made Denny's amber and it was the best amber I've made yet

A royalty, or a sample, to Denny would be in order.
