Just noticed that this is his "19th attempt and 50th iteration"! Holy mackerel. Is he on the forums here?

Going to give this recipe my best foot forward this weekend and am curious about the whole hops that Crispy used. I am using pellets and am wondering if I need to throttle back the 1 ounce additions he lists for whole hops as I am using pellets.

targeting 38 IBU so your software can account for difference in pellet vs whole.

EDIT: what yeast you using?

No mention of Chinook or Centennial either.

There were no Magnum or Perle in the hop staging room. They were brewing Pale Ale that day.

They may have had to do some changes due to the hop crop.

Probably 1056. MAYBE the starter I cultures from a commercial bottle. A bit worried to try that as I don't want to screw up a bunch of beer.

For bittering, you may want to go 10% less by weight assuming your hops are the same AA as those in the recipe.  But the most important thing is to match IBUs, not weight.

Here's what I use from one of the brewers that used to work there.  This is what the master brewer allowed him to release.  Also gave the stats on Celebration.

Malts:
Pale 2-row: 92%
Caramel (60L): 8%
Mash at 155 F
Original Gravity: 13.0 Plato
Ending Gravity: 2.8 Plato
ABV: 5.4% (bottle conditioning will get you to 5.6%)
Hops
0 min: Perle
45 min: Cascade
90 min: Cascade

90 min: Whirlpool
IBU: 38

Yeast: SNBCo Ale (California Ale Yeast)

Gave ratios since everyone has varying efficiency.
