Best craft brewery that I know is Nøgne Ø. But they are not in Oslo. http://www.nogne-o.com/

In general, alcohol is prohibitively expensive in Norway. Five years ago or so we went there on holiday (by car from Belgium). We took with us all the alcohol We simply put cases of wine and cava in the trunk, a blanket on top of them, and children on the blanket.  :P

Yeah, everything is expensive in Norway.

Be sure to visit Akershus Fortress, where a heroin addict struck up a conversation with my cousin and me while he had a syringe behind his ear. Addict aside, it's a pretty neat place.

Also check out Vigeland Park. Lots of crazy statues including the two gems below.

I spent a week in Oslo in September. My local Norwegian friends told me that many of their friends tend bar once a week so that they can get a discount on beer when they go out. Alcohol is very heavily taxed in Norway and is very expensive. I went to one brewpub in Oslo. They had the stouts and IPA ect...on tap. Nothing exceptional. Nonge was the best local beer I had over there. We found a place that had tons of American craft beer in bottles. They were the best beers I found in Norway with the exception of Nønge O.
Definitely check out the sculpture garden. It might be a cold day but it's worth it.

Thanks guys,

I've got meetings at the airport all day but I'll try to sneak in on the express train and catch the last of the daylight. And by the sounds of it, it's a good thing I'm on expenses!

Stumbled across Crowbar & Bryggeri courtesy of Untappd. Excellent atmosphere brewpub with 6 house taps and 14 more other local micro-options. Also a had a rotisserie food window upstairs. Friendly staff, good music and fun vibe. Beer was fairly solid too. Simcoe SMaSH IPA was average but the Smoked Pale Ale was really tasty.
