Me too, Jeff! Wish it was easier to find and a bit cheaper. $20 for a half pound is pretty steep!

I love hops and all, but at that price, even I would think twice!

Assume you mean half a pound? Right now Farmhouse Brewing Supply has 2013 crop on sale for $21 a pound. Not a great price, but better than what you're saying.

Have to tried this outfit? They import the new German hops, and sell to large breweries. I did buy 4 ounces from them at the Bell's homebrew expo.

I got my Mandarina from Farmhouse. They still have some of the 2013.  BTW, I'm excited to try the all Vienna IPA. Sounds great.

That was a great find. Thanks! (This is why I spend more time on this forum than ProBrewer.com.)

Does anyone have a review on the Avangard Vienna? The malt analysis sheets I've seen say it's average kiln is 4.3L, which is darker that other types I've used, including Weyermann which is my mainstay.  I may try using it at 100% of the grist for a Marzen this year.  If my software is right it should come out at about the same color as my current recipe, which is 3/4 Weyermann Vienna and 1/4 Weyermann Munich II.

Glad to hear the positives about the Mandarina hops.  I have some set aside in my freezer to try in a pils once the weather warms up.
