Anyone know anything about using brewer's pitch? I want to buy some barrels and make a traditional Kellerbier.

I found this: http://jas-townsend.com/brewers-pitch-p-373.html

I saw on Michael Jackson show when he visited Pilsner Urquell they were mending big wooden barrels and then applying Brewers pitch to it. Not sure where to source it from.

I always wondered at the thought of pitching the inside of barrels with coal tar pitch and it sounded gross. pine tar makes more sense.

Yes, it was pine tar/resin, and was said to impart a certain woody flavor to the beer.

I do remember the BeerHunter episode in the Czech Rep. The second on youtube has it. Second half has the pitch operations.

Hmmm.  That would explain when I asked Karel Goddeau at the DeCam brewery how much lambic he needed to top off his casks for "the angel's share", he looked at me blankly and said, "none".  It's because he ages his lambics in used PU casks. Now I know.  :D
