Just did my first Kegging last night filled keg charged up system, checked for leaks with soapy water,set reg at between 9 to 10 PSI,then put in keezer overnight looked this morn. and pressure had dropped to 5 turned to 10 checked about ten hours later and 5 psi again should this be holding steady pressure? Any advice? Also the beer was at about 38 F when put in keg.

The second gauge should not drop at all as long as the tank is connected and on. It will stay at whatever pressure it is set at but for some wiggling while co2 is flowing. Are you leaving it connected to a keg and all valves are open, including the tank valve?

Yes I have it connected and everything on when I turn up the pressure I here CO2 going in keg.

Close the valve from the regulator to the keg, turn the regulator all the way down to 0 (and use the opportunity to make sure it reads zero correctly), then turn it back up to 10 psi, then reconnect the keg. It's next to impossible to accurately set a regulator while there's flow going through it.

I actually just had the exact same problem. At first I thought it was a loose connection between the regulator and the tank. I tightened it up but it kept happening. I actually lost an entire 5 lb bottle and all the pressure in my keg after leaving it alone for a weekend. I think I've isolated the leak now to the quick connect for the co2 line attaching to the keg. Am going to try putting keg lube on the seals and hope that will take care of it.

Thats very true, though also keep in mind that after being set your pressure may sometimes wander a psi or two. I usually set the reg and then check back in a day or two and adjust if required. Also, although many people do it myself included, Keeping your Bottle and reg in the fridge is not ideal. Many primary regs have a stated input pressure of 500 or more and when you chill your bottle you drop the pressure in the tank below that so your reg is not operating in its preferred state. also when you take your reg from room temp to 38F things within the reg will change due to contraction of metals so what your describing is not that hard to believe. I have seen several degree drops on my own set up when going into the fridge. Just adjust and keep trucking. It will probably hold once adjusted again.
