+1 Golden Promise.
I made it a few times with 97% Golden Promise 2.5% Crystal 55 and .5% Black Patent, EKG & Styrian goldings for bitter, Styrian late addition. And 1469 is the proper yeast. I haven't had the beer before, so I cannot compare, but it was an amazingly complex beer considering the simple grist bill. I also picked up stone fruit aplenty, mostly peach and a hint of cherry.
According to Graham Wheeler, it's 99.3% "Pale Malt" and .7% Black malt.
