It would be awesome to fit an inline plate chiller with ball lock QDs (or some other QD mechanism) on each end so it was super easy to connect the chiller. You could set the plate chiller in the sink under some ice and let her rip.

That chiller could probably be left inline for the rinse cycle to clean the chiller when cleaning everything else.

How is the BEER?  I guess it is just now fermenting?

Curious about all of you that are giddy about the fast chill on your own systems.
Seems like a $2K beer machine should have a rapid chill feature and not be aerating warm wort?

I have always suspected we may overemphasize the importance of the superrapidchill,
but curious how it may effect the final product.

I'm interested to see how the beer turns out and particularly how much of a hassle it is to pour beer with all the primary fermentation trub in the keg.

A peltier strapped to the keg might be a good no hassle method of chilling. It should work quickly considering the unit is recirculating the wort while chilling.

Haven't tried any beer yet.  I'm hoping to get at least a taste of the first batch in the next few days.

Thanks. I realize now this should probably be an immersion chiller. Plate chillers need a counter flow of cold water. An immersion chiller with ball lock QDs would be simpler.

Annie uses an immersion chiller in one of the videos on the picobrew site. It looked complicated to connect though. Ball lock QDs would fix that.

True. The other option is to grab the hot keg, put it in the ferm chamber, and come back in the morning with yeast.

That's kinda what I did on the last brew.  Got it down around 80, then tossed it in the fermentation freezer for a couple hours.

Even though you may not have used them, how would you think it compares to other auto brewers such as Brew Boss or a Braumeister from Spiedel?
