Not to steal the thread back ::), but I thought Jon would appreciate 2 dry hop additions of the same hops mentioned at 14 and 21 days.  Lot's of hops in this bad boy......

Yep, sounds great, Dave ! You'll have to post how it comes out - I've done plenty of Pliny, Blind Pig and Union Jack clones, but never actually tried a Heady clone. I need to.

If it's any good, I'll post the recipe.  I missed my gravity by a bunch.  Still getting used to the new rig.  Came in at 1.059 vs 1.073 but I think it will still be a good brew.  Pitched a ton of Conan and it's burnt out in 5 days.  Time to dry hop this weekend.

It'll be good. That answers about the yeast - I was gonna ask if you used Conan.

I've seen it advertised - if you like the results I may give it a whirl on a Heady beer sometime soon.

I have an ipa on now with Conan yeast. Fermented quick, but only to 70% aa. I hear second pitchers are better.

Did you propagate from a can or use the Gigaeast Vermont IPA?

Wow, that's pretty low. I've read it's actually a British strain. I'd be curious to see how much better it does 2nd time around.

EDIT -  Giga lists at 74-76% for whatever that's worth.

Correction - 73% aa. Not terrible. The beer is good. I used a heavy hand with some columbus in the flame out and dry hop and it was super danky for two weeks. Pretty good right now.

I've been off the forum for a while.  I guess everyone knew about this but me!  Glad I finally got to the LHBS.

Used a gigayeast pack from MoreBeer. Not sure what it brought to the table as it was a new hop bill. May need to do a side by side when I have time. Guess I'll need to order another dry hopper from Zach.
