Brewing Nightmare
« on: March 25, 2015, 07:08:32 am »
I am brewing a Heffe tonight. Last night I dreamed that I was doing a ferulic acid rest by moving a bag of grain about the size of a softball around in 111 degree water. Nothing was happening, the water was still clear and I thought I was doing something wrong when all of a sudden the water started fizzing like a vinegar/baking soda reaction. Of course in the dream I remembered reading that this was supposed to happen. Then I realized I was doing this in my sink. What the hell! How am I going to heat it up to mash temp. I went down cellar to get my auto siphon and kettle and there were puddles of water everywhere even though my cellar doesn't leak. Sooner or later I was watching Adam Sandler dressed up to be Bob Dylan fronting a Led Zeppelin cover band with flying, exploding drummers. (sort of Dred Zeppelin meets Spinal Tap meets Traveling Willbury's) Ah dreams. Freakin' insane.

I'm picturing Dylan singing Kashmir, in his nasally voice.  Funny mental picture.

Funny thing is I think Sandler does resemble Dylan a bit.

When you do that it seems plausible that Dylan wrote that song.

Not sure about something faster like Immigrant song or Communication Breakdown, though. I'd love to hear it.  ;D

That's OK, Dread Zeppelin already nailed the Immigrant Song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3CO7FPU7a2g
In truth, I'm mostly impressed that the acid rest temp was correct in my dream.
