I like Jim's standard of being handed a beer at a BBQ. In other words don't say something you wouldn't say to someone's face. OTOH I'm not sure if saying something to someone's face is all that inhibiting to Jim. ;-)
It depends. Normally it takes a pretty strong gust of stupidity to ruffle my feathers.
As far as describing the beer you are sending, give the taster something to go on. That can be a descriptive title (Bill's Barnyard Brown) or a style (APA) or you can give as much info as you want, like full stats, recipe, photos of your brewery, etc. Whatever tickles your fancy.
As far as the review you post, type in the brewers forum name, which beer they sent, and then try to describe the beer as best you can and score it with the 1-5 system. Dont be rude is all I expect. Its not a test of reviewing skills, so just chill and have fun with it. If the brewer has comments back, post away, but lets avoid any arguments.
We have 11 participants so far! There were a two or three who said they'd be interested on the original thread that I havent gotten an email from yet.
I got a request for shipping tips. I'll post something on that when the time comes.
