Can't wait to see some reviews. Maybe next time we can take more time. I would love to have someone review some of my favorites as opposed to what I happen to have in the pipeline. That being said I'm impressed by how quickly Jim got this off the ground and how well it seems to be going. Its like he was in the Marines or something.

I agree - great job getting it organized and underway quickly.  I would love to do a swap from time to time and plan ahead better (personally) as well to have certain beers ready to roll. I too will be sending the beers I happen to have at this time.... been going through an experimental kick with American Pale Ales quite a bit recently, so I have several of those on deck.
I have swapped beer with several different folks (some on here) and have found it really beneficial to my brewing.  I live in a very rural area, no real highly organized clubs (just brewing friends getting together), no BJCP folks around..... so having a chance to get some feedback and opinions, as well as taste others brew and learn about their process is great.  I know that the communication I have had with a half dozen other brewers via beer exchanges and the ensuing feedback/conversation has helped me improve as a brewer.

Thanks guys. Let's see how this goes. If its a hit, maybe we'll tweak the procedure a bit and try it again in the fall. Summer and winter are busy times and not the best conditions for shipping. For now, the train has barely left the station. Lets see how it goes.

Sent my box UPS today to Toby in Baton Rouge.  I agree, Jim, great job putting this together so quickly. Worst case scenario, someone might have to re-send if the package does not make it through.  I used plastic (PET) brown pint bottles but wrapped one commercial brew bottle in buble wrap and put it in a ziplock just in case.

Great tip. Try to prevent breakage,  but just in case try to contain leakage. One leaker can cause the whole box to be discarded.

Matt, box is shipped. Tell Chris hi, the box originally came from him. Tracking number emailed.

Thanks Jim! Will do... gotta catch up with him after their week at the Craft Brewers Conference. Looked like a really good one.
I just tracked it. Good lord, it took 3 days to go 100 miles. But its in SLC now. Says its two days out from your door.
Its in Mesquite, Tx. Delivers tomorrow.

This is worse than sending your kids to camp. Lol

I totally agree. I think what we are doing now is great. My suggestions are not criticisms about this but brainstorming for next time. Also agree that shipping in the summer isn't great. I think mid September at the earliest.

I feel your pain, Ken.  It seems to happen to me the day or two after I remove the snow plow and put the mower deck on my lawn tractor...like it's winters last kick in the pants.

@hoosierbrew - package is on it's way. I will post the tracking number when it is sent to me. Fedex - supposed to arrive either Sat or Mon/Tue. Enjoy!

Jim - looks like the package arrives this evening. Looking forward to it! And thanks for taking the time to organize it. Cheers!
