Outside of sending an email to the various AHA subcommittees, is there another formalized way to join or apply to join?

To join a subcommittee?  Sure...if I was gonna be on the GC more than another month, I'd help ya.  But you can contact the chairperson, Roxanne Westendorf, and let her know.  Or get ahold of Jeff (hopfenundmalz here on the forum) and let them know.
