Ladies Club
« on: April 26, 2015, 08:26:25 PM »
Hi all,
I'd like to let all female club members know about The Powder Keggers, a Brigade of Female Fermenters! We are a group of women who brew our own beers and make our own wines, ciders, & meads. The PK's are there to provide a friendly, female -centric forum to ask questions, post recipes, and share experiences. We are currently internet based, (the founders reside in the Des Moines/Iowa City/Davenport IA area) but we do hope to have some get-togethers at Midwest beerfests, etc. Here is the QC area, we will be offering various classes every 6-8 weeks.
Most of us are already in 'co-ed' homebrew clubs, but thought it would be nice to have a ladies-only version also. And this is in no way a 'guy bashing'; I personally have learned alot from male brewers & judges over the years. It just seems that women are under-represented in this hobby, and perhaps newbies would feel more comfortable starting out amongst sisters.  We are in the process of developing a website/forum, but for right now we can be found on Facebook--The Powder Keggers,

or via email at
We can brew it!
