Removing Scorch Marks from inside the pot

Long story short, I forgot to mix my LME before i turned on my burner and now my Blond Ale looks more like a Brunette Ale.  What is the best way to get the burn marks off of the inside of my brew pot?  Good old fashion elbow grease is working but taking quite a long time.  Should i be in the market for a new pot?

If it's a stainless pot, Barkeepers Friend works wonders.

+1 Barkeepers Friend.  Found it at the local grocery store.  Works wonders on the kitchen sink too.

A soak in hot PBW will do a lot for you too.

I'll also go with the hot PBW. An overnight soak should do the job.

I use some strong PBW.  Then finish off the stuborn stuff with Barkeepers Friend.
