Anyone watching season 3? I recall not really liking the first season, but I'm really impressed with the third. Currently drooling over the Aberdeen whiskey barrel episode.

That episode was amazing. I've been watching it from the beginning, but ya it has been getting a lot better. The episode they do with the homebrew shop in Brooklyn is pretty crazy as well.

I wanted to be in every scene of that episode...sampling VERY rare Scotch, catching lobster, eating lobster, brewing in the church, etc. etc.

I don't like the Brew Dog show - over-the-top nonsense in the my opinion.

Never heard of it. I thought this was a thread where people posted pictures of their dogs. I'm pretty disapointed.

Likewise, but sadly there aren't many options for craft brew shows on cable these days!

I'll have to check it out sometime. I can't see how the hell they could make brewing TV worthy.

Been enjoying the show as well. Seem like a couple of fun guys to hang out with.

Obviously they expand quite a bit on the brewing process. For instance, they always spotlight the steps involved in all-grain brewing. They also find a somewhat outlandish way to incorporate some sort of local flair with the beer for the show.

For instance, the Aberdeen Scotland episode, they brewed a famous beer from Scotland that hasn't been brewed in a hundred or so years. They used a Scotch barrel made from three different very rare barrels. It's pretty entertaining and honestly, I think it's the only brewing tv show on cable currently.

Man I can't imagine enjoying most of the beers that they brew on that show...especially the anti-Reinheitsgebot beer that used cucumber juice instead of water that they brewed with Greg Koch. I find the show entertaining but only because I love beer so much.
On Tap/Bottled: IPL, Adjunct Vienna, Golden Stout, Honey Lager
Fermenting: IPA
Up Next: mexi lager, Germerican pale ale

I've actually tried one of them (the NOLA zombie beer).  It was drinkable in small amounts, but not something I'd want a pint of.  The show is pretty much pure entertainment, and it's a fun experience.  There's a lot that goes on that gets cut, though.  I know the beer that I tried was not the one they brewed onscreen.  They had major issues with the water filtration system, so they wound up just brewing the batch they served on the brewery pilot system.

Yeah.  I remember watching the first couple, hoping it might be good -  the Greg Koch episode because I like Stone beers. But why not just brew a great beer with them, instead of 'stupid brewing stunts' like brewing on a train ?  It's a clown show.
