How do I insert a table in a topic or post?

There's a button that says "insert table" but then what?  A Word table doesn't insert.  Changing my handle to "internet dummy"  :-[
Many of us would be on a strict liquid diet if it weren't for pretzels.

StepInstruction
1Click 'insert table'
2Manually create new rows and cells using the HTMLesque tags they give you after you press 'insert table'
3Don't forget to close all your tags
4Be annoyed that unsavory people force forums to make it harder to insert HTML data

If you already have a table made up (in Excel for example) and you don't want to recreate it using Drew's method (which you might not want to have to do if your table is really large), you could capture a screenshot of your table using a Print Screen function or a "snipping" tool, save it as a picture file, then insert the picture file. Here is a link for a good snipping tool download. Many of us at my office use this one. It's great for quickly grabbing a screenshot of anything on your computer screen.
