The last mistake I will ever make.
« on: May 26, 2015, 03:16:46 pm »
I have been brewing about 10 years now and thought I have made just about every mistake possible, up until now. Forgot to close the valve on my SS fermtank, 5 gallons of Blind Pig down the drain, literally. DOH!

When I read the title I thought, "Oh, no!  He died!"  Thank goodness it was only beer.

I hate to bring the bad news - it won't be the last brewing mistake you'll ever make, but it's pretty likely the last time you'll ever do THAT   :).   Sorry to hear it, that really sucks ( especially on a Blind Pig clone). I've made some pretty good bonehead maneuvers over the years myself. I agree with Jeffy, glad you're not dead.  ;)

Like my mom has always said, "Bet you won't do THAT again!". :)

Most of the time she's right. ;)

Mom was pretty smart. She tried to raise me better, but her pleading I denied.

I brew it again this Sunday and this time I remembered to close the valve. Fermentation started within 12 hours, so I'd say it was a much better brew day.
