I no longer am but I used to be a vegetarian and I still have feelings about boiling down sweet horsies to nothing so that my beer is clear...

Would enough yeast be in the beer after dosing to bottle condition?

Yep. There's always yeast in the beer to do the job especially on a standard OG beer. The fining just drops out the visible excess. No worries.

You are only making it worse.

But the horses used to make gelatin had wondrous lives and all died of natural causes happily thinking about how they may one day clarify a delicious pint of beer.

You can't prove that's not true.

As tempting as biofine clear is, I did not have nearly the results I have had using gelatin properly.  The biofine seemed to take longer to clear and still didn't clear nearly as well as my typical gelatin dosing.  Not to mention its way more money and does not go as far.

I have not tried this but maybe you could use polyclar?

Not sure how much Biofine you use, but I use ~ a tbsp for most beers, same routine as gelatin - ie., get the beer thoroughly cold first then gently stir in - and get results at least as good as gelatin in 48 hrs. I like gelatin too, though.

Yeah, I should probably give it another shot because it is much easier than prepping the gelatin.  Although it is a bit more money.  I wish they would sell larger bottles of it for a cheaper price.

After one week in the fridge only a tiny bit of improvement. Must be the 27 grams/liter in whirlpool & dry hops. IS there anyone here who can honestly taste the difference between those 27 grams and - say - half that amount?

You'll have to brew another version with only a measly 13.5 grams of hops per liter. Else we'll never know.
