Wyeast 1010 Activator

I am making an American Wheat Hybrid this weekend. OG should be 1.055. Is there any need to make a starter at this OG?
Thanks,
Gcam

There's never a "need" to make a starter. Whether it will make better beer is a matter of personal preference. I would say yes. It can also help to cover for other potential process problems (contamination, high temperature, lack of oxygen).
If you're willing to wade through it:

Beer is like porn. You can buy it, but it's more fun to make your own.

Thanks for the explanation. I had assumed from reading that it was primarily based on OG. I actally enjoy making a starter. Now it sounds like I can make one on most every batch.
Thanks again,
