PBW enough?
« on: July 16, 2015, 08:56:10 pm »
Hey gang! Long time since I have been on, but then again, I only seem to brew once a year now for our beach trip... Time is the greatest commodity...

So, In lieu of time, I was wondering if using PBW and a rinse is adequate enough for my kegs that I am getting ready to siphon into, or do I HAVE to sanitize as well?

Thoughts?

Thanks!

Hedgie

Not enough for me. I rinse thoroughly with hot water, use PBW and scrub (if need be) right after emptying to remove all sediment. Then I sanitize with star san. Gotta remember that cleaning and sanitizing are two separate steps.

Thanks man!  Just transferred it all...  Really didn't add much time since I was able to work on one keg while the other was sanitizing...  That is 10 gal of a Yuengling clone and 10 gal of a Sculpin IPA clone...  That Sculpin is freakin awesome!  Gonna be a good two weeks at the beach!
