DOGFISH HEAD CLONE RAISIN d'Etre
Does anyone else see a problem here? 60IBU from 1 oz magnum? OG wrong, IBU wrong 15 points gravity from 6 oz of raisins? wrong. Does anyone read these recipe's before publishing? The more I look into this site and familar with the brewing process I become I wonder why I pay for membership. Forum is great but I feel I have been sent astray and questioned my process from BAD RECIPE'S.

I've noticed many of the recipes on the main page are a bit off, nothing too crazy like the one listed above. Normally it's just the color or a few gravity points are missing.

Some quick math suggests about 75% mash efficiency and 30% alpha acid utilization. Your results may differ, but those seem like reasonable assumptions to me.
The lager recipe explicitly calling for one pack of yeast that was posted recently was pretty bad.

Beer is like porn. You can buy it, but it's more fun to make your own.

If you do try this recipe, consider caramelizing the raisins. When I did my clone, I blow torched the raisins in a cast iron pan until they started smoking (not burnt however). This method via The Lost Abbey.
