I must have gotten a fresh six-pack.  The bittering was low to medium, but the hop flavor was among the highest I've tried.  It was even good the second day after riding around in 100* heat in a saddle bag.

They were giving away samples at NHC...incredible!  Unfortunately, due to my meds, I couldn't try the grapefruit version.

I think it was better than the non-grapefruit version.  It mellowed the sharpness of the bitterness.

Kinda glad to hear that!

We've recently been getting the sculpin and GF sculpin in cans and I can't believe how fresh it tastes. I do like the grapefruit but prefer the regular although my girlfriend always chooses the grapefruit if she's picking it out. The grapefruit is just a teensy bit, I don't know: extracty? perfumy?. Something. But still good.

My favorite was the Habanero Sculpin, but I'm twisted like that.

Put on a motorcycle trip, stopped in Hoodsport, WA for the night.  Picked up a sixer of "Joe" to go with cigars.  I chose it because it advertises Simcoe, Amarillo & Mosaic hops.  Wonderful hop flavor.  Seriously one of the best IPAs I've had
Steve, I just gave this a second try. Turns out that maybe it's not entirely their fault that I got it too warm on the trip home. And now that it's been in my fridge for a few days the temp is much better. Surprisingly, the cold temp seems to have greatly improved the drinkability. Its one of the best Budweiser IPAs I've tried.

Its one of very few piney beers that I've liked. I don't normally care for that. I think there's just enough citrus behind it to make me like it.

Overall a real good beer. But since it's a Budweiser, I'll give it a 13.5  Nearly undrinkable and beware that they don't stay cold on hot days, and the barrel doesn't turn blue so there's really no way of knowing if it's cold or not.

The grapefruit sculpin tastes more like grapefruit than beer to me.  I like grapefruit, but something about this beer just seems incorrect to me... it isn't bad by any means.  I dunno, perhaps it's just the "natural grapefruit flavors" that are throwing me off - what exactly is that anyway?  Give me a regular sculpin any day (but I'll still drink this one).

I feel the same. Its a nice beer that I'm happy to drink but the grapefruit is just a bit too much. I'm wanting it to accentuate the citrus notes in the hops but it overpowers them.

My thoughts also.  I do love regular Sculpin.  I have only bough a sixer of Grapefruit Sculpin once.  It wasn't bad, just not my preference.  For a grapefruit beer I actually prefer Schöfferhofer Grapefruit Weizen.  But I don't buy it either - I just take a sip from my wife's glass  ::)

I like both versions of sculpin but I will not pay $14 for a six pack.

I forgot 10 Barrel was acquired recently. Makes sense why I started seeing their beers everywhere all of the sudden...

I can't remember the name of the 10 barrel IPA i just bought, it was the blue label one though and I thought it was great. I haven't had an IPA in a while and it hit the spot. Nice resiny hop backbone and great citrus at the end. Making my IPA recipe and want to compare the two. My IPA has nice citrus/fruit at the end and want to see how it holds up to 10 barrel, which I think its a good IPA and something I will buy again.
