Another good one Martin.  I used this strain last year after getting a free sample at NHC.  My initial impression on a Tripel was that it was a bit harsh early, but with time it produced a really nice beer - perhaps the fining with gelatin helped on your brew....keep up the good work.  Just shows that taste test alone, the Abbaye is a decent yeast.

Good to hear positive impressions of Abbaye. I have been afraid to give it a shot after some less than enthusiastic reviews.

The Abbaye yeast does make good beer, but in my experience you have to give it plenty of time.

I liked the flavour of Abbaye in my tripel. But it throws a tun of sulphur during fermentation (clears with time) . Flocs great but I recommend using fresh yeast if you bottle condition.

Haha. Belle Sasison seems to be a pretty divisive strain, I've heard from many who love it and others who hate it. I fall somewhere in the middle with both of the beers I made, they're certainly better than neutral, but nothing mind blowing.

Also, I'm Marshall, Martin is waaaaay smarter than me :)

Still curious as to how T-58 would've fared...

In my opinion T58 is way to mild for a saison however it does attenuate well for me. I used it last year and was not impressed with the results. It works best for me in a wit however in a recent comp, the judges thought it was too mild for that as well...
