If you routinely have flights come back with only one empty glass, it's time to reevaluate the rest of your line up.
Good one.  Fortunately I haven't had the experience of drinking a flight like that.

More breweries should offer 6-8 oz pours so I can drink more than one beer without having to buy a tasting flight.
They can't afford to because thats twice as much labor, and labor is..... never mind

I like drinking half pints in England, where the price is 1/2 of a pint. More labor, but they don't seem to care much.

A Kölsch is not a Pilsner.

They _could_ do it if priced accordingly. My favorite local taproom and bottleshop will sell an 8 oz, but it's not half price. Usually you save a buck on a $6 pint. But if you want the variety without the buzz, it's worth the price.

Don't restrict growler sales to your dull everyday line up and not your seasonals.

That's crap. I get it when the beer is ultra limited and the brewer is attempting to prohibit gray market selling, but otherwise it's crap.

Never tell a customer "no". Just charge $20 and let them decide how badly they want it.

Beer is like porn. You can buy it, but it's more fun to make your own.

Have to disagree here. Some of the beers I make are very exclusive, like 12 gallon batches. I have some barely wine that I aged in Woodinville Whiskey barrels that I only permitted served in 2 oz pours. Even if we were allowed to sell growlers from the brewery I wouldn't let anyone take a growler of some of the extremely small batches of beer. That way it gives other a chance to try it. You should probably be thankful that some of the beers aren't sold by the growlers at other pubs, because you may not have even gotten to try it otherwise.

Definitely makes sense on the smallest batches especially. I'd rather get to try a small sample of that whiskey barrel BW than have a few guys get it all.

I'm hoping and praying that the growler bill goes through next legislative session here in Alabama. Because then I will be brewing beers EXCLUSIVELY for growler to go that you will only be able to get at the brewery.

Cleaning growlers yuck!

I hope they pass the law. It just makes a lot of sense to allow that. I just hope you counter pressure fill instead of off the tap lines.

Oh did I say I hate cleaning growlers.

Is that why you bought a canner before bigger fermenters? I think I have washed almost 20K of them.

Yes I try to phase them out. We still do a little. Great package for Christmas as a gift. I little hired help can do wonders.

Learn how to brew on larger systems before opening your brewery. Seems that homebrewers are continuing to make the jump without any experience on large systems.

I cannot tell you how many brand new breweries that I have been to that are horrible. After a few months, most (not all) seem to improve; some dramatically. One just opened nearby last weekend; not good. Luckily for them craft beer is so popular right now that half the people don't realize that they are drinking crappy beer. Most businesses would suffer from a bad product but a lot of new breweries are lucky that way...
On Tap/Bottled: IPL, Adjunct Vienna, Golden Stout, Honey Lager
Fermenting: IPA
Up Next: mexi lager, Germerican pale ale

You'll make more money if you charge IPA prices for non-IPA beers.
