Hello from the sleepy creek brewery
« on: August 26, 2015, 09:54:40 PM »
Hey y'all,
Been brewing for about 7 years now...I just can't stop! Lol
Just recently joined the AHA and here we are.
I started of like most folks, but nowadays I use a 10 gallon electric RIMS system . I ferment in a blichmann 15 gallon conical fermenator , and then keg using 1/6 bbl sanke kegs.
I'm located in the Raleigh area of NC where the place is busting with breweries nowadays. Who knows, maybe I'll go pro one day😀
See yall around,
Steve

Oops, almost forgot my pic 😎

Welcome Steve!  I'm curious how you clean the sankey kegs.

Hey YSO,
Pretty straightforward.  Pull the spear, dump and rinse any leftover beer. Pour approx  half gallon of  hot oxy clean solution, insert spear, shake rattle and roll. Drain, rinse twice. Pour approx half gallon starsan  , empty, done. I usually run some of the cleaner and sanitizer through the spear when draining.
Beer and BBQ is our specialty 😀

Welcome fellow Steve

If it weren't for AiH's kegs, I'd consider sanke as well. Maybe someday.
