Suggestion for American Brown Ale Recipe

Hello every one! :)

I formulated my 1st American Brown
Posting it here so I can get some feed back
Suggestions (what would you add or change) and critiques

I was thinking to add German Munich light @ 1lb and reducing the Golden promise by that much, too get a bit more malt profile
What you guys think??


Method: All Grain
Style: American Brown Ale   
Boil Time: 60 min
Batch Size: 5.5 gallons (fermentor volume)   
Boil Size: 7.52 gallons
Boil Gravity: 1.041 (recipe based estimate)
Efficiency: 80% (brew house)

First, I wouldn't bother with the Munich - you're using several malts as is. Too many malts can give the beer a muddy, ill-defined flavor. And unless you already have the Golden Promise on hand, I just use American 2 row in mine, as it is American Brown. Otherwise, looks pretty good !

Thanks Hoosier.... Yea I thought I'm already pushing too many malt syndrome..lol...but that's why I needed a second opinion from the brew people! Lol. Gracias amigo!

At my brew shop in sac..its 2.00lb for ,American vs 2.25lb for GP..

Yea kinda expensive maybe :).

So would you drop the Belgian biscuit??

I think the biscuit would be fine at that amount. And the GP is obviously a great malt. If you wanna use it, go for it !

EDIT - 2 row would be more fitting for an American style beer, but who cares. Golden Promise is a great malt.

EDIT - 2 row would be more fitting for an American style beer, but who cares. Golden Promise is a great malt.

And yea I'm hoping the biscuit is good as is  %wise 3%

I'm brewing tomorrow ,Sunday a pumkin Ale 3 gallons and Blond Ale 5.5gallons. Long day tomorrow.yes I know I'm retarded...lol
