I keep my grain at a friend's house, so I don't know for sure how much I've got.  A rough guess would be in the 700-1000 lb. range total.

Curious if you use it fast enough before it goes stale, and/or if you have storage advice to keep it fresh?  I don't find it worth the while to stock up unless I'm going out of my way to find something not normally stocked, say organic base malts.

If a bag is opened, it gets tied up and stored in a Rubbermaid storage tub.  It's good for at least 2-3 years like that.  Unopened bags stay good even longer.

I'm in good shape on 2 row, pils and light Munich. Need to stock back up on specialty malts soon, though. Now hops, there's always the fine line between 'enough' and just too damn many. My wife tends to think the latter.  ;)

Ha!.. that does become a problem. luckily i have a dedicated freezer so nobody cares too much!

I've pointed that out on occasion !

EDIT -  It's all done good naturedly. She's great and very supportive of me doing this stuff.

Same here- although she enjoys the beer more than I enjoy shoes and purses.
