It originally stabilized at about 4.16, but slowly rose over the course of a couple minutes while I went grab my phone to snap a pic.

Lines up well with that Weyerman pH in the Brewery powerpoint that puts English Ales at 4-4.2pH

Yup. Ales are typically slightly more acidic than lagers.

No worries. I needed to do the initial calibration on it anyway and hadn't drank Fuller's in a while.
