We have a field a little way down the road from me with some elk in there.
This video is from 2010, and there has to be at least twice as many now.
I go by there every day on the way home from work.  They hang out in those fields just about every day.

I'm not a hunter (and do not oppose it) but have a real appreciation for how majestic those big bull elk are. Really something to see.

I'm sure I'd feel different if I ran the danger of striking one of them with my vehicle though!

That is pretty country, Jim.  I like your setup.

As to the elk - just amazing in terms of numbers...I hope they don't get hit with the same brain disease (CWD) that is hitting deer here in the Midwest.

I think archery is winding down. Modern start on the 17th I think, but im working opening weekend. If they are still around the following monday I might have to harvest one. With the price of red meat so crazy these days, it would be nice to have in the freezer.
