I joined at the Surly rally last month -- what a cool event!  I wish more establishments in my area (Twin Cities, MN) offered the pub discount, but I'm going to start bugging the managers at those establishments to get on board.

If you need some material to show them, contact Kathryn Porter at the AHA.

I've been in contact with Kathryn.  She was incredibly responsive to my inquiry about getting more establishments on board and sent me some materials.

I have a membership but unfortunately I don't get down to use the pub discounts, since there are only a few pubs within 40 miles that participate.  Don't want to drive that far after having a few beers.

<Bosley> Hi I'm Drew and not only am I on the Governing Committee, but I'm a member too! </Bosley>

Looking into the future, one of the things we'd love to know from the membership is what services does the AHA not provide that you wish they did? I know for some of you the Pub Discount program is less than useful due to location, so what could the org do for you?

We meet often to talk about these sorts of things and offer input into the efforts, so give us ideas. You've seen Denny and I, do we look like we have much in the way of brainpower left? :)

You know Drew I would like to see a good forum with a listing of winning recipes from the NHC.

What am I saying, you have just done that!!!   Nice job!!!!

Now add the Silver and Bronze and Regional winners as well.  Anything that makes it to the second round is worthy.

I only heard of the AHA a week or so ago. I was a click away from purchasing a membership Mon. but then I thought I would put it on my x-as list first then if I didn't get one I would purchase my own. Oh I would also like the AHA cap. You never know who may read this.
I wasn't even in town that day, I swear.

NoPants is a carryover from another board?  ???

I got in on the recipe book promotion, that's what pushed me over the edge.

I've been a member for about 12 years ... nearly as long as I've been brewing.

The only perks I've taken advantage of are discounted entries in the NHC and discounted conference tickets. But Zymurgy and the Homebrew advocacy are good enough reasons for me.

I've only been a member for about a year and a half. I enjoy reading Zymurgy and reading the beer reviews. I wish there were more brewpubs in my area so I could take full advantage of my pub discount. I do use it when we head out to CO for ski trips and hiking. So I guess that isn't too bad.
Cheers!

Like Slim I haven't yet, but I have made the dedication to do it as the first order of business to ring in the new year. (that way I'll be able to keep up with renewal time)  ;D

Mark me down for a 3 year family plan!  :)
Just brew it...
