i just joined....looking forward to being a member..thanks to Denny for referring me.

You won't regret it, man.  Besides the perks you get, you help support the hobby and the AHA's efforts to make homebrewing legal in every state and keep craft beer available.

looking forward to being a member...i think i will drink a pint (or two) to inaugurate ;D!!

Just getting Zymurgy is worth the price. Getting 10% off at my LHBS is a bonus. Supporting the cause of homebrewing is icing on the cake.

Love Zymurgy, Love that I can get discounts at places when I go out of town (I already get them from being a member of my brew-club) and the fact that my money goes to the community, added bonus. The way I see it, why not give back

After this year I am dropping my membership.  Cant get any feedback unless it is slap you in the face learning.  Just too much for me.

P.S. But the magazine ZYMURGY is good, but the forums are too negative.

Sorry you had that experience. Seems the opposite to me. Yeah there is rogue negative person out there every so often, but on a whole I personally found everyone to be very nice here. Anyway...

There is also the fact the member helps ensure homebrewing stay legal and help protect our rights. That alone (to me anyway) is worth the price of membership. Rest is gravy.

I agree, I care more about the fact that my membership dollars go towards the homebrewing community, than I do the perks.

As far as negativity, I'v found it's often a 2-way street. nothing against you montanagray, but if you spend time on some of the other forums out there, you'll find that alot of them are filled with snobs who would rather criticize than help. Not the case here.

Which is the reason I left the green board and Beer Advocate.

Yup. Never perused those particular forums, but you get the idea. I'd rather not name drop, as I'm sure that there are some very nice, helpful and experienced brewers, but there's always a bad apple to ruin the pie. I have not found that to be the case here. :fingers crossed:

I was thinking of subscribing to Zymurgy and when I looked at the price for AHA membership that included Zymurgy, the forums, etc., I decide to join.  I'm glad I did as I have already received help from the senior members.  Well worth the price of admission.

Hey neighbor!  I see by your picture that you ride.  Those two things prompted me to say hello.  I hope to run into you some time.
