I'd be interested in membership, but I wonder whether it makes sense for people living in Europe....

Well, there's Zymurgy. I'm not sure if there would be an extra charge to mail paper copies to Europe or not. And you would have access to the e-versions.

Discounts on books and other items from AHA. Again, might be extra charge to send to Europe.

Attendance at the AHA National Conference and the Great American Beer Festival. You could do a vacation around either one of these and spend some extra time visiting craft breweries here in the US.

Just a few reasons off the top of my head.

My son and I just joined over the weekend.  Wish we had done it a long time ago.

I started brewing in 1992.  Gave it up for several years, then started again recently.  Just joined AHA a few months ago.  Zymurgy is a definite bonus, but the free advice from the experienced Home Brewers for issues that come up is absolutely priceless.  These experienced brewers are willing to share years of experience and help with all kinds of issues relating to brewing.  Also, the web site offers many recipes, enjoyable articles, and they work in our favor in legislation for Home Brewers.

Wished I had signed up as a member years ago.

Started brewing in 2000. Was taught by Jackie Rager, the guy who came up with the Rager IBU formula.  Worked for him and Alberta at Bacchus and Barleycorn for a couple years. Took a long hiatus to have a couple kids. Back at it again. Proud member and plan to stay that way. Even if there were no personal benefits to doing so, having a governmental advocate is well worth the price.

Definitely, when I lived in Mississippi, Gary Glass came down multiple times to help lobby our legislators for legalizing homebrew.   It worked.

Zymurgy is great, but I've really been enjoying the catalog of conference seminar presentations (a lot of information here!).  Well worth the cost of admission in my book.

That's a nice perk package Ken. When my first year was up, I renewed for 3 years and there was no perk at the time  >:(, other than being part of this awesome group

Hey y'all!

I just joined about a week ago and have been busily digging through the magazine archives , the forums, and the website.
Money well spent!  ;D The cost of membership is worth it for Zymurgy alone, much less all the other benefits!

Cheers!
