We are getting off topic, something I never do. So lets just stop.

You know for it to be "on topic" you'd have to talk about beer, right? ;)

Beer is like porn. You can buy it, but it's more fun to make your own.

Just a little extract shame.

You guys are all the brewer I hope to be one day. I have said over and over that I am going to make the jump to AG. But, kid, work, money..blah blah blah.

Im lately a bi-monthly, turkey fryer garden house chiller kinda brewer, making the same old fashioned English ale over and over.

What will I talk about that all you guys don't already know?

Anyways, I fricken love beer.

Im gonna sell this nightmare house some day and then I will make a killer brew set up. You will see, you will see. ;)

Beer, its whats for dinner.

When posting in the homebrewopedia it says dont post copyrighted material. I was going to post some example photos and technical charts from the web along with some of my on photos.

How can I find out if something is copyrighted? Is it safe to assume that anything I pull off a search engine is free domain?

Cap,

It's safe to assume anything you pull off the web IS NOT free domain.

If there are images you wish to use, you should contact the author of the site.

Unless the material is under Creative Commons License.

Then you would most likely do attribution to the original work.

So, attribution after permission?
There are multiple CC licenses.
If you find CC work Like Kai's web site http://braukaiser.com/wiki/index.php/Main_Page
you can use his work without explicit permission.
You can do this with Kai's work:
http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/3.0/

You can share his work (copy...),
remix his work
if you
attribute him as an original author and
use it for non commercial purpose.

If you want to use it for commercial purpose you would still have to obtain the permission.

Does it make any sense?

It all seems so confusing. I saw that no one holds the copyrights to the Popeye cartoons. You can use them for anything. How does that happen? The copyrights expired?

Anyways, I am going to try and capture my own images that can be used for demonstration. For other helpful but lengthy information I was thinking that I will just provide a link.

There is a lot of stuff in Public Domain.
Anything from before 1920-sh is in public domain.
After that it become to be more complicated.
That is why you can copy Shakespeare or your favorite opera.

To matter be worst if you buy Shakespeare on "book on tape" it is copyrighted.
What is copyrighted is not content of Shakespeare's work but someones voice and someones packaging.
