Can someone recommend a good (yet not horribly expensive) vacuum sealer for hop storage purposes?

This is mine - love it.

My food saver finally gave up the ghost after many years of use so I made sure to get one from the same company and it looks to me to be the same model Jon is recommending. I like the new model better because you can seal the roll to make a bag without turning on the vacuum and you don't have to press down with your thumbs during the cycle. It also has a port for mason jars which I want to try out. Its nice to see a new version of s product with real improvements instead of a bunch of BS just to make people think they need a new one.

I own the model that Jon suggested.  It works great.

I have the V2865.  My wife picked it up at a thrift shop for less than $20.  I suggest you take a look for one second hand as people often end up donating them after little to no use.

I misremembered.  She bought this new at B,B, & B for Christmas last year.  Replacement bags are from the thrift store.  I still think it is worth checking though.

Food Saver sealers really do work very well.  I have a pretty old one and it just keeps chugging along.

Is it just me, or have the rolls gone up dramatically in price the last couple of years?  I bought mine during the "Great Hop Shortage Scare" several years ago and picked up a supply of rolls that might have been considered overboard  :-\ and last year when I finally ran out the rolls seemed to have tripled in price.

Anyone have a good source for rolls that don't cost quite so much?

I buy Weston brand bags on Amazon for a fair price. If you want foodsaver brand, they often have BOGO sales on their site.

As for the machine, I have a 2244. Bought it for $50 at target a few year back. It sucks and seals.

Good call. It's on sale for $59.99 right now.

I just bought one.

Edit: Man, this thing is awesome.  I wish I had more stuff around the house that needed to be vacuumed sealed.
