Venting the boil
« on: October 27, 2015, 07:49:30 pm »
I am ready to vent my boil humidity out of my garage.  I want to go through wall. Does anyone do this?  If so, would you share your setup?

I am sure you can do this with a simple kitchen hood and fan setup, I have even seen a piece of 6 inch round solid duct and a computer fan.  I use my window and side door - which works just fine all winter long (main door most of the rest of the time).

I vent out the wall of my basement using a rectangular duct. See this post for photos and other info:

The better you enclose the pot and burner, the better the capture of steam and combustion gases.  I use a nylon shower curtain with some nomex panels to that end.
