Weyermann Barke Munich
« on: November 16, 2015, 01:04:44 pm »
So...just bought some of this and will be using it (along with some vienna and pils) in a few weeks for another go of festbier (my February is like a mild fall for most of you out there so its still appropriate season).

Has anyone tried the Barke varietal yet?

looks to be a bit darker than their standard munich.  not sure - i figured I'd try it, maybe it would have a similar character to that Steffi varietal that I loved so much in the SN Oktoberfest beer.

Yeah, the munich seems just a touch darker than before.  I will have to see if my LHBS can get any of that.  Would be nice in a marzen.

I think Bryan Rabe says the Barke pils is good stuff, no reason the Munich wouldn't be stellar. Do it up and let us know what you think.
