Wooden Shoe Brew Works

Not a commercial operation..... A simple three tier gravity system Still a lot of work to do, but I think you can see where it's going. The neat part about this system is that it hangs from the pipe on the ceiling, and that it will hinge up and out of the way when not in use.......

The grates for the keg and cooler still need to be put in, and they will be lower than the edge of the support creating fiddles. Also still need the burners, waiting for delivery. Plan on puting a copper gas line on, with a flex to the ceiling and then over and down to a 100 pounder. Also plan to run a copper water pipe to the HLT, so al I will have to do is hook up the hose at the bottom....With a shutoff and a sight glass it should be nice and efficient. The cooler platform is large enough to hold a 70 quart cooler, so 10G batches are theoretically possible.

I wish I had an area like that in my house. Is that a cellar?

No, that is "the barn". A workshop in the back yard that I spent five years building, it's done except for the brick on the outside....yes honey, I'll get it.....Spring, I PROMISE.

32x28 with a partial second floor, and a lean-to out the back. Floor heat with a water heater keeps it at 45º, a barrel stove does the rest when I'm in there. I'm set up for automotive with a lift. There's a '64 Landrover on there right now, I also do all the maintenance on our daily drivers. There's a sail boat project going on as well... It has internet, cable and a fridge. (No keggerator....yet). And now it's also the brewery, which works out really well as the wife does not like the smell of wort.  :o

Yes I have...... the thought of ANOTHER structure in the backyard had crossed my mind... :o... Not in the budget right now. Time or money wise.

I have twelve years left before I retire..... If all the planets align I will be designing the ultimate kitchen for the retirement house, and it WILL have a glassed in brewery in it...... ;D

Went to Home Despot got stuff and ran all the black gas pipe tonight and got the burners hooked up......36 feet of pipe to a 100 pounder outside. Except it's empty. First thing in the morning. Tomorrow some water line, modify the HLT and the MT/LT and then.... INAUGURAL BREW DAY.
