hop combo
« on: November 16, 2015, 05:39:58 pm »
So, I'm getting ready to dry hop an IPA but choosing witch hops to use seems to be difficult for me. I have used 1.oz bravo @70. 1.0z cascade @30. 1.0z styrian goldings @ 10. Plus I put in about .5 0z of goldings in when the temp got to 140 while using my wort chiller. The options for dry hopping are styrian goldings, cascade, and bravo. Any thoughts about what to use or not to use would be great. The recipe is 6# lme gold. 1# pale ale. .5# Carmel 40. .5# biscuit. .5# white wheat and .5# carafoam.

I would leave the bravo out (personal preference) and split the dry hop between cascade and goldings. Since you didn't use much in the boil, I would probably dry hop with at least a couple ounces of both.
On Tap/Bottled: IPL, Adjunct Vienna, Golden Stout, Honey Lager
Fermenting: IPA
Up Next: mexi lager, Germerican pale ale
